The Storks Nest of the Old Pueblo is owned by Susan Luedtke a
native Tucsonan. She opened one of Tucson’s most popular
children’s boutiques in September of 2003 and has remained
in the same east side location since. The name comes from the
first maternity hospital in Tucson, Arizona, The Stork's Nest,
where Susan’s parents were both born. It was a "laying
in" hospital located downtown on Court Avenue which operated
until 1946. After living in California for many years, Susan returned
to Tucson with her family. Susan started the business because,
"When my father passed away in 2003 I wanted to create something
that he would be proud of and that would bring my love of Tucson
and family full circle."
In the fall of 2006, the boutique was credited for being one
of the top 100 “cool kid” boutiques in the United
States by Child magazine. We have also received other local awards
like “Best in City” from Tucson Lifestyle Magazine
and had many features in the Arizona Daily Star.
At the Stork's Nest of the Old Pueblo we offer a variety of clothing,
accessories and gift items for the Old Pueblo's most stylish children
and Mommies. We have had several opportunities to help new families
decorate their little one’s nurseries and rooms. The boutique
takes pride in our “old pueblo” flare. The items throughout
the store are truly unique, including vintage mementos used to
display some items.
The love and support of family and friends continues to be the
driving force behind the stores success today. We will always
do our utmost to provide the best and most courteous shopping
experience. The Storks Nest of the Old Pueblo looks forward to
continued contributions to Tucson’s many charities and supporting
local fundraising events. If you are ever in Tucson Arizona, come
visit the Stork's Nest of the Old Pueblo!
